Basic principles of flight
ATC procedures & Radio Telephony (non FRTOL)
Fixed-wing Operations and Aerodynamics
Fixed-wing operations involve the use of aircraft with fixed wings to generate lift, allowing for efficient long-distance travel and stable flight. Aerodynamics is the study of how air interacts with solid objects, crucial for understanding flight mechanics and optimizing aircraft performance.
Rotorcraft Operations and Aerodynamics
Rotorcraft operations involve the use of rotary-wing aircraft, such as helicopters, which can take off and land vertically, hover, and fly in any direction. Aerodynamics for rotorcraft focuses on the principles of lift, thrust, drag, and weight, which are crucial for understanding their unique flight capabilities.
Hybrid Operations and Aerodynamics
Hybrid operations involve the use of aircraft that combine features of both fixed-wing and rotary-wing designs, offering versatility in takeoff, landing, and flight efficiency. Aerodynamics for hybrid aircraft focuses on optimizing lift, thrust, and control across different flight modes
Weather and Meteorology
Weather refers to the short-term atmospheric conditions in a specific area, including temperature, humidity, precipitation, and wind. Meteorology is the scientific study of the atmosphere and weather patterns, helping us understand and predict weather changes.
Drone Equipment Maintenance
Regular drone equipment maintenance is essential to ensure safe and reliable operations, preventing malfunctions and extending the lifespan of the drone. This includes routine checks, cleaning, and timely replacement of worn-out parts.
Risk Assessment & Analysis – Safety Management / TEM
Risk assessment and analysis in safety management involve identifying potential hazards and evaluating their impact to implement effective mitigation strategies. Threat and Error Management (TEM) focuses on detecting and managing threats and errors to enhance overall safety and operational efficiency.
Payload, Installation and Utilization
Payload installation and utilization involve securely attaching and effectively using equipment or cargo on a drone, ensuring it meets operational requirements. Proper management of payloads is crucial for maintaining flight stability, performance, and achieving mission objectives.
Intro to Drone Data & Analysis
Drone data and analysis involve collecting, processing, and interpreting data captured by drones to gain valuable insights. This process is crucial for applications such as mapping, surveying, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.
The Drone Rules, 2021
